An American pizza delivery man has been hailed a hero after he ran into a burning house to save three teenagers and two children from a blaze.
On July 11, Nicholas Bostic, 25, was driving in a residential area of the city of Lafayette (Indiana), when he spotted a fire in a building. The young man then rushed inside to bring three teenagers and two children to safety. Thanks to her action, four siblings, ages 1, 6, 13 and 18, and a sleeping 13-year-old boy were rescued, authorities said.
More fear than harm
The savior said he did not have his phone on him at the time of the tragedy. Unable to call for help, he ran to the building and went directly upstairs. He thus managed to save four young people who were inside. When the latter told him that a 6-year-old girl was missing, he did not hesitate to return to the building and, despite thick smoke, found her. He then punched through a window so they could escape to safety.
The savior was taken to hospital due to the toxic fumes he inhaled and because he suffered numerous injuries to his right ankle and arm. More fear than harm, Nicholas Bostic only stayed there for a few hours.
