The 10 best films from January to July 2022 according to the press

What are the best-rated films according to press reviews present on AlloCiné since January 5, 2022? Here are the top 10!*

Seven months have passed since January 1, 2022 and several films, not necessarily very well known, have been praised by the French press. In first position, the intimate romance Licorice Pizza by Paul Thomas Anderson is unanimous. She is narrowly overtaken by La Nuit du 12, a realistic thriller by Dominik Moll, with Bastien Bouillon and Bouli Lanners in the two main roles.

The rest of the ranking includes several dramas (Tales of chance and other fantasies, Les Travaux et les Jours, The Souvenir and Vitalina Varela), but also the thriller As Bestas, led by Denis Ménochet, as well as the documentaries Cahiers noirs, Et j’ likes to fury and Soy Libre. So many productions brilliantly leaving the beaten track, both from an aesthetic and screenplay point of view.

* According to the press reviews of the AlloCiné panel, as of Friday July 29, 2022, for films released between January 5 and July 27, with at least 10 press ratings.
