SNCF Connect finally activates Apple Pay payments

As expected, the SNCF Connect application, which had had a difficult start, has finally activated payment by Apple Pay. While last night’s update only mentioned the addition of the “via journey” filter, it is now possible to effortlessly pay for your next train ticket.

SNCF Connect switches to Apple Pay

When paying for an order, the app therefore offers a new option alongside bank cards and holiday vouchers. This is Apple Pay, the contactless mobile payment service from the Cupertino company that appeared in 2016 in France. A click on the “Apple Pay” button is enough to pay the amount, as long as you validate with Face ID, Touch ID or the code. Look at the screenshots:

Remember that SNCF Connect replaced Oui.scnf and SNCF Assistant in pain, with many bugs and missing features at the start. An application coded in Flutter which allows to have a large part of the common code between iOS and Android, but which shows its limits in terms of fluidity. Little by little, however, the developers are improving the experience.
