Les Affranchis, Le Flambeur, New York judicial police… Actor Paul Sorvino died at 83

American actor Paul Sorvino, known for his role as Paul Cicero in Freedmen in particular, died on Monday, July 25, 2022. The family of the latter announced it to the American agency Associated street press as well as on Twitter.

“He was the most wonderful of fathers. I love him so much. I send you love to the stars while you go up there dad, ”wrote his daughter, Mira Sorvino, in particular.

Born in 1939 in Brooklyn, he would have left “a natural death in Florida”.

A busy career

If he was recognized for his role as Paul Cicero, with Ray Liotta – recently deceased – in Freedmen in 1990, we could also see him briefly in the hit series New York Judicial Policein which he played Sergeant Phil Cerreta.

He had also filmed alongside James Caan, also recently deceased, in The Flambeur in 1974.

In 2009, he also played the role of sheriff Roy Basehard, in Doc West and Doc West 2under the direction of a famous Terence Hill.

More recently, Paul Sorvino had also played mafia Franck Costello in the series Godfather of Harlembroadcast from 2019 to 2021.

Mira Sorvino’s father

As indicated above, his daughter is Mira Sorvino, who rose to prominence with her role in Cursed Aphroditedirected by Woody Allen in 1995.

A film that allowed her to win the Oscar and the Golden Globe in the category best actress in a supporting role.
