The iPhone 14 Pro promise to be much more powerful than the standard versions. To support the SoC A16 Bionic, reserved for Pro editions, Apple would rely on 6 GB of Ram LPDDR5, a new faster and more energy-efficient standard.
All iPhone 14s will come with 6 GB of RAMreports Digitimes, a media specializing in the electronics industry. The standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max would also be affected.
This is the first time that Apple has integrated so much RAM into affordable editions. Last year, the Cupertino giant had indeed reserved the 6 GB of Ram for the iPhone 13 Pro. For their part, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini had to be content with 4 GB of RAM to support the SoC. Note that Ming-Chi Kuo, famous analyst specializing in the sector, has already mentioned the arrival of 6 GB of Ram last March.
Only two Pro models would upgrade to the A16 processor, while the 14 & 14 Max will remain the A15. All four new models will likely come with 6GB RAM, with the difference being LPDDR 5 (14 Pro & 14 Pro Max) vs. LPDDR 4X (14 & 14 Max). https://t.co/tHcszIz6gX

LPDDR5 Ram for the iPhone 14 Pro
In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro would be entitled to Ram LPDDR5. Inaugurated in 2019, this new standard promises better performance and 30% lower energy consumption than the LPDDR4X standard. The RAM LPDDR5 notably ensures a data transfer rate of up to 6,400 Mbit/s.
Many Android smartphones already benefit from this new standard, including the latest flagships from OnePlus, Xiaomi or Samsung. For their part, the iPhone 14 and 14 Max should deal with LPDDR4X RAMlike the iPhone 13. This decision is probably aimed at reducing the production costs of the two smartphones.
Moreover, Apple seems to have decided toaccentuate the differences between premium models and affordable editions. To the point that the Californian giant should reserve the new A16 Bionic chip for the iPhone 14 Pro. The other variants would be powered by an A15 Bionic chip similar to that of the iPhone 13.
This strategy should allow Apple to clarify the positioning of the iPhone 14 Pro compared to other models. Last year, the Pro editions were considered too close to the more affordable versions in the eyes of the general public.
Apple would expect strong demand
Digitimes also got information about production of the iPhone 14. According to information gleaned by the specialized media, Apple has increased its component orders. The brand would have recently contacted its suppliers in this direction. The media outlet claims that the decision was made in view of the excellent sales figures for the iPhone 13, whose demand remains stable months after the release.
In this context, Apple would expect the iPhone 14 line to be a success. Last May, the American giant had first reduced its sales targets by 20 million units. More pessimistic than analysts, Apple was counting on 220 million iPhones sold This year. It seems that the brand revised its predictions upwards afterwards.
Except surprise, Apple will present the iPhone 14 during the month of September 2022. During the keynote, the group should also lift the veil on the Apple Watch Series 8its new connected watch.
