For the promotion of Luck, Apple puts the odds on its side

Apple pulls out all the stops to promote Apple TV+’s first animated film, Luck (Stroke of luck, in Canada), uploaded today on the service. This Skydance production features Sam who has never been lucky. With the help of a magical cat (like all cats), she will find out where luck comes from.

This film is overseen by John Lasseter, a historic figure in the Pixar studio (and who left his post in 2018 due to accusations of sexual harassment). He is also the boss of Skydance Animation, whose Luck is the first achievement; it benefited from a budget of 140 million dollars.

As saying that Luck is important for both the studio and Apple TV+! And for once, no question of doing in half measures, the home page of the Apple site is therefore the colors (green) of the film with funny animations everywhere. In order not to leave anything to chance, Apple also uses the image of the film to promote… the Apple Card: holders of an Apple line of credit can obtain three months of free Apple TV+.

For the rest, it will be up to everyone to judge the quality of the production, which was received fairly coldly by critics (49% on Rotten Tomatoes).
