Castelnau-d’Estrétefonds. Fire at Pizza Moon

It was 2:30 a.m. when the fire broke out at the Pizza Moon pizzeria, located in the Péradère shopping center, 36 avenue de Toulouse.

The departmental fire and rescue operational center (Codis) dispatched thirteen firefighters, as well as three machines, to stop the advance of the flames. The fire started, according to the firefighters, from the engine of a freezer which was in the kitchen on the ground floor. The soot attacked the floor of the pizzeria. A spectacle of desolation for the current manager, Marc-François Gabriel. “I really don’t understand how it could have happened, especially since the freezer is not a year old. A hard blow to take, fortunately, there were no injuries.”

Heavy work to be expected

The pizzeria was about to be bought by one of the employees. Luigi Bordaries is dejected: “we had signed the private sub-signature. I had to sign the final act in three weeks. My cousin, Yohann, was to take care of the management. My team of seven people (former and new employees) was ready to take up the torch. Customers were loyal to the brand. We have good press in the village. We welcome them to Pizza Moon in Saint-Jory with the same services.”

The experts must invest the places in order to quantify the amount of the material damage. It will then be necessary to take into account the losses at the commercial level because the pizzeria must be the subject of heavy work.
